MIFFLINTOWN, Pennsylvania (July 26, 2018) – Selinsgrove Speedway, the site of Jake Waters’s 2016 season-ending, and life-altering, accident, plays stage to his recent return to racing this weekend as he looks to capture the checkered flag in his second start in 2018.
Making his official return at Clinton County Motor Speedway in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, July 13, the night ended after contact with another car forced Waters to settle for a 17th-place finish, one lap down. Achieving the goal of finishing the evening, the team looks to rebound Saturday when Waters takes to Selinsgrove, fielding the No. 10 JCW Racing RaceSaver IMCA sprint car.
Noting his emotions behind the return to Selinsgrove, Waters said, “Coming back to Selinsgrove was inevitable. I know many track promoters, including Steve Inch, Mike Hefner and their teams, have taken many steps to ensure added safety measures have been put in place for all teams, drivers and fans alike. To say there are a whirlwind of emotions may be an understatement. It’s not just myself that has been anxious about this, but the whole team, my family, the series, and everyone in our racing world. The goal is to make laps Saturday night, but we won’t be disappointed in dominating, either.”
Action at the 1/2-mile dirt track kicks off Saturday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. ET, with grandstands and gates opening to fans at 5 p.m. ET.
